
Finally. Many people have been waiting for the price drop on Xbox’s latest console, the Xbox One and starting June 9th, you can have it. Well, Sort of. Xbox One will now be sold without the Kinect for $399 as an option. This puts it at the same price point as the Sony Playstation 4. Like all accessories and games, your Kinect from your Xbox 360 will NOT work with the Xbox One though. Different technology. Better Camera. Is the Price Drop For the Xbox One Worth It? So is it the price drop really worth it? Xbox one has made Kinect a core part of their platform moving ahead. The latest blog release from Microsoft states that “..more than 80 percent of you are actively using Kinect, with an average of 120 voice commands per month on each console. Some of the most popular voice commands include “Xbox On,” “Xbox Broadcast” and “Xbox Record That.” So is it worth while to purchase for the sake of “getting an Xbox One”? Xbox also states in the release that they will offer a stand alone Kinect version for purchase, “but not till the fall”. There is no mention of the price point of the camera either yet. A brand new Xbox One right now costs 499.99 at Best Buy in the USA, so you are saving yourself $100. If you are on a really tight budget, and really need the upgrade, then purchasing the Xbox One without Kinect bundle might be right for you. But for most, I …
